Etsy Party Success!!

Etsy Craft Party 2011 was a blast! Although small, the sense of community and support was overwhelming! I was touched by the amazing group of artists who came together to celebrate and share our crafts.

Our theme: Upcycled Paper, was realized by handmade boxes, bows, tags......

...and paper beads. Taught to us by Emily Lindberg of Zween!

Amazing and relaxing Zentangle by the three ladies of Tangled River Crafts, added to the fun with paper. As well as teaching a meditative aspect to creating! Great food for the soul!

It's been a long time dream to have a place where artists, crafters, and those who haven't found their inner 'craft goddess', can come and learn in a non-judgemental and inspiring environment. I believe art is essential to our overall well being. And I want to inspire as many artistic souls as I can!

Thanks to all who came to share and learn! Lets do it again!

Global Etsy Craft Party 2011!!

Every year Etsy coordinates a worldwide Craft Party! This year the Lakewood/Cleveland area is invited to Keyhole Gallery on June 10th at 7pm! Anything that is to made or produced with care, skill, or ingenuity (as the dictionary says) is crafted, and important, and worthy of global celebration.

The Theme is: UPCYCLED PAPER!

You won't believe the myriad of things you can do with old magazines! We'll be making paper beads, origami pendants, gift bows, collage, and maybe even some Zentangle demos!

RECYCLE by bringing an old magazine or any paper, and add it to the collective pot! That way, we'll have many choices in color and paper for all the projects! All other supplies will be provided and are FREE of charge! All projects are quick, fun, and for all levels of ability!

This event is hosted by Emily of Zween and Therese of Keyhole Gallery http://zween.wordpress.com/

"Craftifesto: The power is in your hands!

* Craft is Powerful: We want to show the depth and breadth of the crafting world. Anything you want you can probably get from a person in your own community.

* Craft is Personal: To know that something is made by hand, by someone who cares that you like it, makes that object much more enjoyable

* Craft is Political: We're trying to change the world. We want everyone to rethink corporate culture and consumerism.

* Craft is Possible: Everybody can create something."(by Cinnamon Cooper and Amy Carlton)
